How to use Tile Layout Studio: enter dimensions, fix thin cuts, read the Estimate and Cut list, export a Project Blueprint.
Type the name of a control or a question, for example "Minimum cut" or "boxes".

Your first layout: dimensions, openings, pattern, and how to read the Cut list.
-
Create your first tile layout
Enter one wall, pick a tile, and read the Estimate and Cut list. Ten minutes from an empty canvas to a piece count you can order from.
-
Enter the wall or the floor you will tile
The metres you type become the piece count you order. Measure the face that gets tile, pick metres, centimetres or millimetres, and match a floor to its shape.
-
A door or a window is not tile
Place the opening at its real size and position. The Estimate drops that area, and the Cut list shows the pieces around the frame — that is the order.
-
The pattern changes how the room looks and how many boxes you buy
Pick the layout pattern on the Material tab, then read Total tiles and Cuts. The same floor in Grid and in herringbone is not the same order.
-
Read the Cut list before you buy the boxes
Every piece that is not a full tile is a row: where it sits, its size in millimetres, how many, and how it is cut. That list is what you hand the tiler.
-
Try the layout before you create an account
You can draw the whole layout as a guest. The quantities, the save, and the Project Blueprint open when you create a free account.
When the layout does not look right
Thin cuts and Sliver Guard, the Installation start point, corners and openings, herringbone and diagonal.
-
Thin cuts: what Sliver Guard does and how to fix a fragile edge
Sliver Guard finds strips thinner than 50 mm and shifts the layout to remove them. If a shift cannot, those pieces stay marked so you can change the start point.
Materials
Tiles in pieces, grout, adhesive and primer, boxes and allowance.
-
How many tiles do I need? Count in pieces
Order from whole tiles and cut sizes, then round to box packs — not from “area plus 10%” alone.
-
How to calculate tile grout
Grout depends on the joint, the tile size, and the net area. Use the figure from the material list and buy whole packs.
-
How to calculate tile adhesive (and primer)
Adhesive and primer follow the area after openings, plus your order allowance: about 4.5 kg/m² and 0.2 L/m². Buy whole bags from that figure.
Working with the result

Project Blueprint: what it contains, how to export it, and the monthly limit
The Blueprint is the PDF you hand to the tiler: layout drawing, dimensions, Estimate and Cut list. Free accounts export 3 a month, Professional unlimited.
-
See the finished room before you order
Generate makes a photo of the 3D view you are looking at — the same tile, the same door, the same angle. The picture does not change how many tiles you need.
Room guides
Bathroom and floor walk-throughs with real dimensions.
-
Bathroom tile layout: how many tiles and where cuts land
Measure each bathroom wall and the floor, subtract the tub and openings, then get piece counts and a layout — before you DIY or call the tiler.
-
Floor tile layout: plan the grid before you open boxes
Floor layouts show where cuts land along walls. Set room size, pattern, and start point — then order from the piece list.
