A wall with a window is not a blank rectangle. If you only multiply length × height and knock off “about 10%,” you either overbuy or leave the tiler short around the opening.
Worked idea
Say the wall is 3.20 m × 2.70 m and the window is 1.20 m × 1.40 m:
- Gross area ≈ 8.64 m².
- Window ≈ 1.68 m².
- Net area ≈ 6.96 m² — that is what you glue.
Piece count still depends on tile size, joint, and where the grid starts. Two walls with the same net area can need different box counts if openings land differently on the pattern.

- Enter the full wall size.
- Add each window and door with real sizes and place them on the diagram.
- Set tile size, joint, and pattern.
- Read whole tiles and cuts on the remaining field — not only square metres.
- Check Sliver Guard around openings and corners.
Ordering tip
Order from the piece list and round up to whole boxes using the pack size on the carton. Keep a small spare for breakage — talk the spare through with the installer, do not invent a flat 15% without looking at the cut map.
