Online Store Widget
FAQ
The questions integrators and store owners ask before going live, answered.
Does the shopper need a Scalarcut account?
No. The widget runs entirely in the shopper's browser. There is no login, no redirect, and nothing to fill in beyond the layout itself.
Where does the catalog live?
Your catalog is stored with Scalarcut so the widget can lock SKUs to their real dimensions, but product images are referenced from your CDN and never copied. You can update the catalog any time by re-importing a CSV.
Who owns the cart and checkout?
You do. The widget resolves SKUs and quantities and passes them to your onAddToCart callback. Price, tax, discounts, stock, payment, and fulfilment all stay in your store.
Does it work with my platform?
Almost certainly. The widget is a self-contained iframe with no dependency on your store's backend. It works with WooCommerce, Shopify, Bitrix, Shopware, JTL, 1C-driven storefronts, and fully custom stores — anywhere you can add a script tag and call an add-to-cart function.
How long does setup take?
The embed itself is a few lines. With a prepared CSV export, a store can be live the same day: upload the catalog, map the columns once, drop in the snippet, and publish.
What materials does it handle?
Tile and flooring coverings — ceramic and porcelain tile, LVT, laminate, engineered wood, large-format slabs, and granite — on walls and floors, with openings such as doors, windows, and hatches.
Can I theme it?
Yes. Primary colour, logo, legal name on blueprints, and a powered-by toggle are all account-level settings that apply to every embed. See Localization & branding.
Does the widget include AI room rendering?
No. AI room rendering is turned off by default in the embed to protect your rendering quota and keep your costs predictable. The Online Store widget focuses on interactive planning, quantities, cut lists, and the path to purchase. If you want machine-readable manufacturing data for your ERP or factory floor, that is a separate Enterprise product — see Factory MBOM.
Is the widget mobile-friendly?
Yes. It is touch-first and switches to a full-viewport layout on phones, so a shopper can plan a bathroom on the same device they are buying from.
How do I get a widget key?
Widget keys are created when you sign up. Talk to us — we will set up your catalog and origins with you and hand over a snippet that is ready to paste.
