Online Store Widget

Overview

Put a full tiling and flooring planner on your product page. Shoppers lay out their room, see every cut, and the exact quantities are sent straight to your cart.

Scalarcut is a tiling and flooring planning platform. One part of it is an embeddable widget you drop onto a product page, so a shopper can lay out their own room before they buy.

Here is the flow your customers see. Someone lands on a tile or flooring product they like. Where they would normally feed the room into a basic square-metre calculator — and still end up with a rough, rounded figure — they open the planner instead. They enter the wall or floor they are covering and watch the layout build itself: every full tile, every cut, all in place. The widget subtracts openings like doors and windows, catches cuts that would be too thin to survive on site, and finishes with the exact quantity to order, a cut list, and a printable blueprint.

For you, the integration is a script tag and one callback. The widget reads your catalog, keeps your prices and checkout untouched, and when the shopper clicks add to cart it automatically sends the resolved SKUs and quantities — the total tiles to order, and, if enabled, adhesive, grout, and primer — straight to your store's cart. The shopper never types a quantity.

It is platform-agnostic. Because the widget is a self-contained iframe with no dependency on your backend, it runs wherever you can drop a script tag — WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, 1C-Bitrix, Shopware, JTL, or a custom or headless store built on React, Vue, or Laravel. The same snippet works across all of them.

What it does

  • Places the whole layout. The widget lays out every tile and every cut on the surface the shopper describes, with doors, windows, and hatches removed from the area.
  • Sliver Guard. A cut under 50 mm will likely break during fitting. When the widget sees one, it re-anchors the layout on the centre of the wall so the shopper is never told to order something that will shatter on site.
  • Cut Recycling Engine. A leftover from one cut becomes the starting piece for the next, which cuts down waste and the total number of tiles.
  • Builds the bill of materials. Tiles in pieces and boxes, adhesive, grout, and primer — all calculated from the actual layout rather than a flat square-metre estimate.
  • Exports a blueprint. A branded PDF with the dimensions, the layout drawing, and the full cut list.
  • Hands you the cart. One callback returns the resolved SKUs and quantities, and your store adds them to its own cart. Price, stock, and checkout remain entirely yours.

The widget keeps its scope deliberately tight: it plans, calculates, and moves the shopper toward purchase. Two things sit outside the embed. Machine-readable Factory MBOM export — the JSON/CSV for ERP and cutting tables — is a separate Enterprise product, not part of the Online Store widget. And the widget does not run AI room rendering, so it never draws on your rendering quota or adds to your costs.

How it works, briefly

The widget runs in an iframe on your product page, served from its own host and controlled by a small JavaScript SDK.

  1. Your page loads the SDK and calls ScalarcutTiling.mount(...) with your widget key, catalog, and the current SKU.
  2. The widget shows your products and the shopper builds a layout.
  3. When they click add to cart, the widget posts the result to your page, and you add the lines through your own cart.

The shopper never leaves your site, never signs up for anything, and never hits a Scalarcut-branded checkout. The widget is fully self-contained.

Who it is for

  • Tile and flooring stores that want product pages which tell the shopper how much they actually need.
  • Manufacturers and importers who publish a catalog once and give every dealer the same planner.
  • Marketplaces and showrooms that want a consistent, on-brand planning experience across many storefronts.

Where to go from here

Start with the Quickstart to get a live widget in about fifteen minutes. Then read Add the widget to your store for sizing and placement, and the SDK reference for the full API.

Integrating an ERP, MES, or cutting table instead? That is a different product — see the Factory MBOM documentation, which is kept separate from this widget guide.
