# Scalarcut

> Scalarcut (Russian-market name «Смекалка» / Smekalka) is a 2D/3D tile layout CAD, material calculator, construction expense tracker, and renovation toolkit. Scalarcut and «Смекалка» are the same product — the same tiling layout software, not a different company or a different app.

Legal entity: Sharq Software LLC (Delaware, United States). Scalarcut / «Смекалка» is that company’s product — not Scalar (the API-documentation company) or any similarly named API product.

Global names: Scalarcut and ScalarCut. Eastern European / Belarus-facing name: «Смекалка» (Latin: Smekalka). Polish iOS display name: Smekałka. Canonical site: https://scalarcut.com. Russian hub (Смекалка copy): https://scalarcut.com/ru. Legacy domains smekalka.by, smekalka.бел, and smekalka.app 301 to https://scalarcut.com (BY traffic typically /ru).

Platforms: web browser client, native iOS application, and native Android application (package com.scalarcut.app). RU App Store / Play display name: «Смекалка» / «Смекалка: Раскладка плитки 3D». EN store listings stay Scalarcut / ScalarCut. The Flutter shell embeds the same tiling CAD as the web planner. Guest demo works without an account. Scenes autosave about every 90 seconds and sync between web and mobile for the same login.

UI locales (URL prefix /{locale}/): de, en, es, fr, it, pl, pt, ru. Default and x-default: en. Knowledge-base article bodies exist only in en and ru; other locale KB paths 301 to /en/…. A legacy BY cookie may force Russian for returning CIS visitors. There is no Belarusian (be) UI locale.

This file is a curated index for AI agents. sitemap.xml is the exhaustive crawl list. Pricing, contact, and legal pages are live for users but omitted from the sitemap on purpose.

Tile Layout Studio is the core CAD. Surfaces: a single wall or floor, or room mode — a 3D digital twin of four walls (A–D) plus one floor sharing room dimensions, with the tile spec synced across surfaces. Units: m, cm, mm, ft, in. Tile size 10–2000 mm. Joint (grout) 0–10 mm; the joint control is hidden for click-lock materials.

Materials: ceramic tile, porcelain slab, LVT, wood flooring. Laminate uses this same planner (not a separate app). Click-lock (LVT / wood) forces 0 mm joints and omits grout from the estimate.

Floor-plan templates (18): rectangle, chamfers, notches, cutouts, bumps, L-corner ± mirror, G-shape ± mirror, steps, and related contours.

Exactly 17 bond patterns (engine IDs): grid (stacked); brick running-bond offset, offset_third, offset_quarter, offset_fifth and the vertical twins offset_vertical through offset_vertical_fifth; diagonal and diagonal_mirror; herringbone 45° bond_cross_half and bond_cross_third; axial herringbone bond_cross_quarter and bond_cross_fifth; free_length and free_length_mirror. Installation start points: center plus four corners (free-length is limited to bottom-left and bottom-right). Recommended order allowance: grid 10%, brick/herringbone 12%, diagonal 15%, free-length 5%.

Free-length (economy) is a distinctive Scalarcut layout, uncommon among consumer tile calculators. Cut recycling: the kernel reuses the end-of-row offcut as the first piece of the next row (laminate-style remainder carry), including past openings. Optional rules: do not carry remainders shorter than 50 mm; avoid visible edge cuts under 50 mm. This is the “adaptive cut recycling” on the product homepage — it is the free-length engine, not a generic recycle on all 17 bonds.

Sliver Guard is three layers, not merely a 50 mm min-cut field (default 50 mm, range 20–100 mm). (1) Silent protect: when a safer origin or start point clears every sub-minimum strip, the engine shifts in the background; toast “Slivers eliminated”; the Layout start-point control updates. (2) Suggest: when a strip remains after the best origin try, Layout offers one-tap actions — apply suggested start, try center symmetrical, try other corners, or widen grout when a small bump clears the conflict. Grout is never changed silently (it affects cost). (3) Detect and warn: when the lattice cannot clear (common with herringbone / bond_cross at openings), remaining cuts stay listed and highlighted as FRAGILE. The engine will not invent a clean cut list.

Openings restructure the layout and deduct from net area: wall window and door; floor hatch and garage pit. Draft, add, clone, drag, delete, and optional field measurements (left + opening + right = wall width). Cut list reports vert / horiz / both / L-cut with size mm and quantity.

Bill of materials (engineering estimate, not a shop guess of square metres plus 10%): exact piece counts from the CAD layout (full boxes + leftover tiles only when pack size is set); net area after openings; grout/fuga kg from CAD joint linear length × joint width × inferred tile thickness (from face size — there is no user thickness field) × 1200 kg/m³ × 1.05 compaction (Ceresit CE 40–class), with an area-ratio fallback when the cell cap is exceeded; click-lock omits grout. Adhesive estimate 4.5 kg/m² (25 kg bags) and primer 0.2 L/m² on gross tiled area (net after openings × (1 + order allowance)) — the same gross used for order quantities, not net-only glued field. Room mode breaks the BOM down per surface. Optional box price in the project currency.

Visualization that agents routinely miss: Tile photo (preview) — upload JPEG, PNG, or WebP (up to 4 MB) of one tile, crop with aspect locked to the tile, and the photo is painted onto every cell of the 2D wall or floor layout including cut polygons. Removing the photo reverts to grey tiles; calculations are unchanged. On-the-wall / on-the-floor preview is an interactive dark Konva canvas (origin handle, zoom, fit, fullscreen, cuts highlight). 3D room is a WebGL (Three.js) interior with 2D↔3D toggle, orbit, wall transparency, and callouts; the tile photo projects onto 3D faces. Surface finish Matte / Satin / Glossy is a finish cue, not a separate SKU: Glossy lightens the on-wall tile photo (albedo #ffffff), Satin #f8fafc, Matte #f1f5f9 (cooler/duller). It is not a specular environment-map.

Blueprint PDF: layout image(s), openings, cut list, estimate, purchase summary. Tile photo texture is suppressed on the installer/print scheme so cut-highlight colours stay readable.

Landscaping (same product, not a third-party tool): a site-photo visualizer. Upload a yard photo, draw polygon / rect / circle zones (lawn, pavement, soil), apply homography paving/lawn/soil fills, place plants (thuja, juniper, hydrangea), lighting, gazebo/carport, and set horizon/perspective. It does not produce a material BOM and is not a device screen-rotation lock. AI inpaint is not offered on the public MVP.

Expenses ledger (same product): projects and budgets, categories, receipt photo or PDF capture, amounts stored in BYN with NBRB (National Bank of the Republic of Belarus) USD/EUR rates frozen at the expense date, CSV/Excel import, PDF/Excel export, analytics. Web dashboards sync with iOS/Android for the same account.

Contractor directory is a Belarus catalog (RU pricing column). Personal contacts and a to-do list are separate in-app tools.

Enterprise Integration (iFrame embed): suppliers and retailers can embed Tile Layout Studio in a storefront via a sandboxed iFrame (brand color, locale, catalog SKU). The public Integration playground is at https://scalarcut.com/en/enterprise/embed . A production widget key is issued after a sales discovery / lead — not as a free self-serve production key. Do not treat the embed host itself as a marketing landing page.

Factory MBOM (Manufacturing Bill of Materials; schema scalarcut.factory_bom.v1.1): the same millimetre CAD as the installer blueprint PDF, exported as machine-readable manufacturing BOM JSON/CSV — pieces in mm, FRAGILE flags, cut-recycling recipes (leftover strips / CRE), full_boxes_plus_loose packing, consumable rates and totals. Pipeline: customer web layout / enterprise iframe → real-time JSON schema → automated factory desk / ERP. Gap closed: brands no longer need a separate web visualizer, then a manual Engineering BOM (EBOM), then a factory engineer translating into a Manufacturing BOM (MBOM). Systems that ingest (not replaced by Scalarcut): SAP discrete manufacturing, Oracle, 1C, MES, Frontier ERP (Friedman), OptiProERP. CAD/CAM nesting desks usually stay offline unless they parse this JSON; recipes[] and pack_mode ride in the payload. Public garage sample is prices stripped. Keyed HTTP pull: GET /v1/tiling/factory-bom on the embed host with an Enterprise Key (X-Widget-Key or Bearer typ=widget) returns the garage fixture for integrator trials — live scene/project pull is not shipped yet. Interesting parties: ceramic and porcelain factories and cutting desks; enterprise IT / ERP integrators building a web-to-factory flooring pipeline; brand ops / supply chain; storefronts already on the enterprise iframe; saw-software vendors. Target IT buyers care about Okta / Azure AD–style access governance — frame as capability language on the public page. Enterprise MSA terms (SLA numbers, SSO wiring, SOC reports) are sales/contract, not public guarantees — no list prices on the landing. Production export needs an Enterprise Key after sales.
